Flashback Friday: Chicago Edition

I have a lot to say about my trip to Chicago. So much, in fact, that it’s hard to put it into words for your reading pleasure. Cuz, really, no matter what I say, it won’t do justice to the amazing weekend I spent with Mr. B. But, as I was reflecting on the trip and trying to capture its beauty in a few simple words, I remembered my last trip to Chicago.

So, I went back through some of my photo archives and dug up some pictures of myself. I’m amazed at the difference 2-1/2 years can make. It’s in so much more than the person looking back at me in these photos. It’s in my attitude about — and my appreciation for — my life. And it’s in the discovery of true and utter joy.

Until I can aptly put my weekend into words (perhaps inspiration may come this weekend while Mr. B is yelling at the Lions on the TV screen), I thought I’d share with you just a few of the photo comparisons I was able to find.

Full body

On the left we were at the top of the Sears Tower, and I was freaking out. On the right, it was the Willis Tower (same building, different name) and I was only minorly freaking out.

On the left, Sears Tower, backing up to the window so as not to have to look out. On the right, actually standing out in the sky.

On the left, looking at myself at The Bean. On the right, looking out on Chicago from a zillionty feet in the air. Also, holy crap! I have cheeks! And a chin!

More face

Just waiting for the El.
